Note! To preserve customer passwords after Magento 1.x to Magento 2.x upgrade, you need to unify hashing on your Source and Target stores. To do this, you’ll have to edit Encryptor.php file of your Target Magento 2.x store before or after the migration. You may find it via FTP by going to: target.com/vendor/magento/framework/Encryption/Encryptor.php
Here, you need to set 1 instead of 0 for MD5, and 0 instead of 1 for SHA256.
After saving the changes, you customers should be able to log in new Magento 2.x store using their old credentials. Please, take into account that you’ll still need to use password recovery option for your administrator account.
Also, visit our dedicated landing page for a detailed table with migration pairs available for password transfer.
