How to get API key from Ecwid

To perform a migration from Ecwid, you will need to provide your store’s Personal Collection URL. Keep in mind that access to the Ecwid API is only available to merchants with a paid plan (Venture, Business, or Unlimited). Unfortunately, those on the Free plan cannot use the Ecwid API.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you obtain the Personal Collection URL for your Ecwid store:

Step 1: Log in to your Ecwid admin Panel.

Step 2: Go to this page to create a new custom app. Please ensure your app has the following permissions: read_customers, read_brands, create_catalog, update_subscriptions, read_discount_coupons, create_discount_coupons, update_catalog, public_storefront, customize_cart_calculation, update_discount_coupons, delete_staff, read_store_limits, create_customers, read_catalog, update_customers, read_orders, read_staff, add_payment_method, create_orders, read_subscriptions, update_orders, read_store_profile, add_shipping_method, invite_staff, update_store_profile.

Step 3: Request missing permissions (if necessary):

  • Scroll down to “Request Ecwid team to update app details & add new features” and click “Contact”
  • List missing permissions in “Type your answer here…” and click “Submit”

Step 4: After Ecwid updates permissions, please uninstall the app in “Apps > My Apps” and install it in the “develop-apps” section: https://my.ecwid.com/#develop-apps

Step 5: Click on the “Show secret token” button. Copy and paste it into the Secret Token field of Cart2Cart to continue the migration.

Just set up the migration and choose the entities to move – the service will do the rest.
