Cannot detect default language

Troubleshooting: Cannot Detect Default Language During Data Migration

If Cart2Cart cannot automatically detect the default language of your source store during the data migration setup, it means the language setting isn't explicitly defined in your store's configuration. This is a common issue, and fortunately, easily resolved.

To resolve this, log in to your source store's admin panel and manually specify the default language. The exact steps will vary depending on your specific e-commerce platform.

Here's how to find the language settings for some popular platforms:

  • Shopify: Go to Settings > Languages.
  • Magento: Navigate to Stores > Configuration > General > Locale Options > Locale.
  • WooCommerce: Usually inherits the site language. Go to Settings > General in WordPress to check the Site Language.
  • BigCommerce: Go to Store Setup > Store Profile > Miscellaneous > Default Language.
  • PrestaShop: Go to International > Localization > Localization.

Once you've specified the default language in your source store's admin panel, return to the Cart2Cart setup wizard and refresh the connection. The system should now be able to detect the default language and proceed with the data migration process.
