How to Clear Cache After PrestaShop Data Migration

Clearing Cache After PrestaShop Migration: Why It's Important

After a data migration to PrestaShop, clearing the cache is crucial to ensure all changes, including migrated products and settings, are visible on your storefront. Here's how to do it:

For PrestaShop 8.x, 9.x and PrestaShop Cloud

Perform these steps on your target PrestaShop store after migration to make sure all products, prices, and filters are visible and indexed properly:

  1. Clear cache
    • Navigate to Advanced Parameters → Performance.
    • Click the Clear cache button in the top-right corner.
    • Note: If Smarty cache is enabled, make sure to click Clear cache again after completing the steps below.
    • Clear Cache Button in PrestaShop Admin Panel
  2. Rebuild search index
    • Go to Shop Parameters → Search.
    • Ensure Indexing is enabled (Yes).
    • Click Rebuild the entire index (or Add missing products to the index).
    • Wait until indexation is finished (large product catalogs may take several minutes).
    • Clear Cache Button in PrestaShop Admin Panel
  3. Rebuild Faceted Search module index (category and filter pages frequently rely on this module rather than core SQL)
    • Navigate to Modules → Module Manager and find Faceted search (ps_facetedsearch).
    • Click Configure.
    • Run Rebuild entire index and Index all missing prices.
    • Clear Cache Button in PrestaShop Admin Panel

For PrestaShop 1.6 and 1.7

Follow these steps to clear the cache after your PrestaShop data migration:

  1. Log in to your PrestaShop Admin panel.
  2. Go to Advanced ParametersPerformance.
  3. Press the Clear cache button at the top-right corner of the screen. (For PrestaShop 1.7 and later, this is the recommended method).

If you're using an older version of PrestaShop, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your PrestaShop admin panel.
  2. Go to Advanced ParametersPerformance.
  3. Set Force compile to Yes and save changes.
  4. Go to your front-office and refresh the store page.
