VirtueMart runs as a Joomla component. Upload the Cart2Cart Connection Bridge to the Joomla root (the folder that contains configuration.php, administrator, and components)—not into components/com_virtuemart.

Current wizard / bridge upload (VirtueMart on Joomla)

1. In the Migration Wizard, download the Connection Bridge when prompted (or use automatic upload if your host credentials allow it).

2. Connect via SFTP/FTP or your host file manager and open the Joomla root directory.

3. Upload/extract so the bridge folder (usually bridge2cart) sits next to configuration.php.

4. Verify in a browser: https://your-store.com/bridge2cart/bridge.php (adjust if Joomla lives in a subdirectory).

5. Return to the wizard and continue the store connection check for your VirtueMart migration.

Previous copy said to place “the connection bridge file” in the Joomla root (folders like administrator, components, modules) so Cart2Cart can reach the VirtueMart database through Joomla. Prefer HTTPS and confirm the extracted bridge2cart path matches your document root.
